The Ultimate Self-Defense

There are so many types of self-defense programs available, and they largely fail to provide adequate skills for the average person dealing with real life situations.  The biggest challenge in self-defense is dealing with our natural fear, adrenaline, and stress. This is known as the adrenal stress response.  That is why we call our program "Fear Adrenal Stress Training", or FAST.

FAST Defense is a highly specialized personal empowerment and self-protection program that teaches children, teens and adults how to avoid conflicts, control a situation and defend yourself if an assault is unavoidable.

Children's Awareness Training

This 2 hour class is for children ages 7-12. This dynamic course teaches children how to avoid the common mistakes that get youngsters into trouble. Students learn in playful scenarios, skills to deal with situations from playground bullies to possible stranger abductions. This course is fast becoming known as the cutting edge in Kids self defense.

I. Bully Solutions:  Children learn how to deal with bullies in a non-violent way. The child will learn why people bully others, verbal and physical boundary setting skills as well as de-escalation techniques practiced in reality based scenarios.

  • Playground Altercations

  • How to handle name calling and teasing

  • Setting boundaries

  • Assessing appropriate defense and how NOT to start a fight

II. Child Abduction Training:  Children learn to listen to their inner voice alerting them of danger. They will learn how to use their minds, body and voice when experiencing the natural fear and excitement of a confrontation.  Children will learn skills and ideas including:

  • Avoiding dangerous shortcuts

  • Using the voice to get attention.

  • Abduction awareness – basic skills to detect and avoid abduction.

  • How to physically defend themselves against our "bulletman" padded adult assailant.

We usually teach only the non-violent bully section when presenting this course in public schools.

Teen and Adults Programs

FAST Defense for Teens and Adults

Level I.  3.5 hour Basics Course:  Learn how to avoid trouble by "tuning-in" to your natural defensive senses, use assertive body language with verbal skills to control and de-escalate a threat, and finally basic physical strikes, with the application of skills against the "bulletman" armored assailant. As seen on NBC-10, WFMZ-TV.

Level II.  Ground Defense:  Learn what to do if they have ended up on the ground. You will learn how to escape using easy to remember skills.

Level III.  Weapons Defense:  This course will teach you how to effectively defend against an assailant who has a knife, stick, or gun. This class also relies on the "bulletman" armored assailant, so you can safely practice your skills at full speed and full force.

FAST Defense builds on your personal strengths. 

FAST Defense builds on the potential that you already have for self empowerment. This includes the ability to learn to make good choices and use effective reasoning under stress. 

 

When the Adrenal Stress Response Occurs

* You loose fine motor control (fancy self-defense moves will not work).

* You experience tunnel vision, auditory exclusion, and denial.

* You will shake, experience shallow breathing and rapid heart rate.

* You will only remember about 5 "bits" of information.  We have found that the more complicated and technical the self-defense technique, the less likely it is to work in a real life situation.
